From travel to scientific exploration
An MDCBridge journey is more than visiting remarkable sites. It offers a method of discovery to understand the phenomena observed and how they relate to biodiversity, water and societies.

Before the expedition
An introduction to the territory, maps, scientific documentation, preparation of the stations and observation goals suited to the participants.
During the expedition
Field method
- Locate
- Observe
- Describe
- Draw
- Compare
- Interpret
- Report back
Notebooks, maps, GPS, hand lenses, compasses and description grids are used for learning, depending on the means available and the participants’ level. Every hypothesis is kept apart from what was actually observed.
After the expedition
Notes, captioned photos, sketches, tables and summaries are brought together. The documents provided are specified in the offer; a certificate of participation, if any, is not a university degree.
Ethics
- Do not disturb wildlife and plants.
- Take nothing without a permit.
- Follow the guides and the authorised trails.
- Obtain consent when talking with communities.
- Put safety before the number of sites visited.
